1985 Slingerland Magnum
Rolling out in 1985 according to the badge and serial this drum was actually made in Algonquin, Il and not Niles as indicated. Having the 3-ply maple/poplar/maple shells with a lacquered interior would make these a custom order set. These usually came in the 5-ply shell. Original configuration was 8x8", 10x10", 12x12", 13x13", 16x16", 22x16". Jason has changed the configuration by getting rid of the 22" kick and modifying the 16" floor tom to do the job. Now it's a unique and wonderful sounding jazz kit.
2004 Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz
2004 Gretsch Catalina Club Jazz in White Marine Pearl. Made in Taiwan and imported by Gretsch. 7-ply Phillipine Mahogony in 12", 14" and 18x16" bass drum with a 14x5" snare. Center mount lugs and the 18x16" kick drum were changed in 2005. The bass drum went to 18x14" and standard lug design was used. No inlay on the bass drum as well. It has no reinforcemant rings and rounded bearing edges.
